Love stories and musicals rule the roost in the international markets, while action films are a strict no-no. But GHAJINI has fetched an overwhelming start in America and Australia and despite a 15 certificate, is impressive in U.K.... The combined total of RAB NE BANA DI JODI from U.K., U.S.A. and Australia, after 17 days, is approx. Rs. 17.75 crores.

Official statement from BIG Pictures [Overseas distributors of GHAJINI]:
Following its Christmas day debut across 22 countries, Ghajini has grossed USD 4 million outside of India over the weekend. Distributed by BIG Pictures, the film opened with USD 0.92 million in the Middle East, the highest opening weekend for a Hindi film, followed by North America with USD 1.4 million and Australia raking in Australian $ 2,54,000.

The film will open in four additional countries that include Myanmar, Uganda, Malaysia and Morocco in the coming weeks. Ghajini also opened simultaneously in Ireland, Norway, Germany, Denmark, Holland, Netherlands, Belgium, South Africa, New Zealand, Fiji, Mauritius, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Ghajini: Biggest hit of 2008?

'Ghajini' is raking in big money not only in India, but abroad as well. The film's box-office performance has almost equalled the big grosser of the year 'Singh Is Kinng', which opened with Rs.900 million worldwide.

A Christmas release, "Ghajini" has collected revenues totalling $4 million (nearly Rs.200 million) till Sunday, taking its total worldwide collections to nearly Rs.900 million in just five days since its release.

According to BIG Pictures, Reliance BIG Entertainment Ltd (RBEL), which released 'Ghajini' in 22 countries, opened with $0.92 million in the Middle East, followed by North America with $1.4 million and Australia with
$254,000.

'Ghajini' is also faring well in Britain. The movie will also open in four additional countries - Myanmar, Uganda, Malaysia aand Morocco in the coming weeks," said Jawahar Sharma, COO International Film Business, BIG Pictures.

"We are extremely pleased with the film's overseas opening, which has created benchmarks in various international markets, like North America, Australia and the Middle East."

Bollywood trade circles, meanwhile, believe that the pace at which 'Ghajini' is collecting revenues all over the world, it may end up grossing Rs.1.40 billion by the end of second week of its run, outranking all the Bollywood hits of 2008.

ahhh if u dont mind can u plz plz plz send it to me lolz i wanna use those icons so bad they're soo cuteee!!! and omg i loveeee it u haev no idea i just listened hai guzarish for like the 6th or 7th timee today straight in a roww lmao so much better then RNBDJ i loveee aamir and asin's chemistry soo cute love the song hai guzarish and the otehr onee.. kaise mujhe tum ahhhhh amazinggggggggggggggggggg :) my sig box is ready to be filled with ghajini stuff lol but ahhh so many sigs i cant use 'em all at the same timee

I just saw the last part of the movie again cuz somehow I had not seen it properly the first time, and OMG i was amazed at the simplicity and beauty of the scene!!!
