and yes. teri or has a punj flavour..

but it relies mainly on melody.. not some silly "rabb de chaake paaji" tunes.

So you don't like Punjabi songs which have "rabb de chaake paaji" tunes, but you do like Punjabi songs which rely on melody?

What's popular isn't always right, what's right isn't always popular.

So, it may be that these punjabi songs, with so called english lyrics may be popular, but that doesn't mean that that's the true form of music. I mean, are you seriously comparing Dance Pe Chance to melodies of the past? Its true that the true melodious songs are a gone era of the past, and its this bhangda/punjabi-ish tunes that have taken over, but you there's no comparison. Nada.

In parties? Well, yeah ... if you're going to talk about dancing, then it requires faster beats.
But think about this --- how many people at parties are actually listening to the song. The words can barely be heard, its the loud blaring of music through speakers that gets people to dance. But still, its not the true form of music. Agreed there?
