Anandi goes to Bollywood

After having won over the couch potatoes, child prodigy Avika Gor, aka Anandi of Balika Vadhu, is set to weave her magic in Bollywood too. In fact, not many are aware that Avika started her career with director Ahmed Khan's film Pathshala.

The 10-year-old shot for Pathshala – starring Shahid Kapur and Ayesha Takia.- before taking up Balika Vadhu. In 'Pathshala', she plays one among the six children who are taught dance by Shahid, who essays the role of an instructor. Her second film, 'Morning Walk' too is for Ahmed Khan. In 'Morning Walk', Avika plays Anupam Kher and Sharmila Tagore's granddaughter.

Sameer Gor, Avika's father says, "She's got a very small role in Pathshala. Avika shot for this film in February 2008 before Balika Vadhu took off. She's got a more prominent role in Morning Walk where she plays Anupam Kher and Sharmila Tagore's granddaughter. Avika's got a good 6-7 scenes in this film. She'll start shooting for this film soon. Morning Walk is expected to release in March 2009."

Avika wasn't available as she was busy shooting for Balika Vadhu.
