protect its turf.

Choti Bahu, Maa and Rang are the three fiction-based shows that will make their appearance on the channel soon.
Produced by DJ Creations, Choti Bahu will go on air by November.
Maa is produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms. Television actor Rohit Roy
and Mansi Roy's production house will produce Rang.
Zee TV still feels that reality format shows like Bigg Boss and
Fear Factor are expensive acquisitions. Sources say the management is
more worried with Colors' growth in ratings from fiction shows like
Balika Vadhu and Jai Shri Krishna.
For the week ended 20 September (Tam, C&S, 4+, HSM), Zee TV had
a gross rating point (GRP) of 232 while Colors was marginally behind
(217). Balika Vadhu is at 6.22 while Jai Shri Krishna is at 4.42 TVR.
Zee also sees an opportunity in closing down on market leader Star Plus which ended the same week with a GRP of 287.
"The three GECs are delicately poised and will have to play their
cards perfectly. There is a lot at stake. It will mean the right choice
of shows, slots and movies," says a media analyst.
Zee recently reshuffled its weekend programming and launched new
shows. Its new launches include reality show for kids Tata Indicom
Chota Packet Bada Dhamaka and a fiction-based show Ranbir Rano.
From 8 September, Zee Next has shifted its fiction-based show
Jhoomein Jiya Re to Zee TV to the afternoon band. The daily show is
being aired at 2.30 pm on the flagship channel right from the start.

Zee TV's thriller-based show Hadsaa, which didn't deliver on
ratings, is off air while Naaginn has moved from 8.30 pm to the 9 pm
slot. Also fiction-based show Maayka (which was airing four days a
week) telecasts five days a week at 8:30 pm.
Besides, Zee has created an ideation outfit to work in tandem with
its programming team. Priya Mishra will head the ideation team which
will create new show concepts.
Mishra says, "The team will work on new concepts for shows, which will be put on either Zee TV or the regional channels."
Mishra comes in from UTV Television where she was working as
creative director. Prior to that, she was at Sab TV as VP programming.
This is Mishra's second innings with Zee TV. She was earlier working
with Zee TV as executive producer.
