The story of two middle-class families of Sharada and Manjula are narrated in this television show. They are living difficult but content lives until a tragedy occurs in Sharada?s life. The plot thickens as their new neighbour Kanchana tries to help in this crisis. Further on, Sharada faces many problems. How she handles these difficulties and the relationships that she nurtures in the process forms the rest of the story. Year 1979. Radio is playing, Sharada puts pottu and then kolanagal.
Her three childrens are occupied with their own work like studying
and packing their bag. Sharada's husband is still fast asleep, she goes
in and wakes him up by "pulling" his nose. Their little daugther is
looking at this and then she tells her siblings(brother and sister) about
it. Sister turns the radio off and Sharada realises that her children are
watching her. Then appa asks "ennadi kalangkathaala vanthu
konchitu"! She leaves!
