Damini Anand has no problem essaying the role of a much-hated vamp in the serial.“It is important to be bad, at least in a daily soap,” she says. “What is more important is doing something that is absolutely unlike me. My role in Maayka is such that I can’t help being bad and I’m absolutely convinced about my role. After all, the character Cherry has helped me bag the first television award of my life, and I’m working in a serial that’s completed 300 episodes. So despite the fact that it’s a negative character, I still want to give it my 100 per cent,” she adds, smiling.

Damini says she got into TV by sheer luck, and, like any television actor, she also dreams of making it big on the silver screen. “Bollywood does attract everyone, no doubts about that. But I’m not keen on doing a movie for the sake of it. A role with tremendous potential is bound to be exciting, though. Working with a big banner like Yash Raj will be a dream come true to me. However, nothing can change destiny.
