Manda Deshmukh{Sachin Deshmukh's wife} Born in an average peasant family, Manda has grown up under the care of her mother Kalavanti who was widowed when Manda was eight years old. Manda is very simple, God-fearing, compassionate, loving and a complete home bird. Beyond her husband and her family she knows nothing and has no desire to know either. Unlike other women of her social status she does not go out even for shopping or a social gathering without her husband’s permission. She does not even know how to deposit cash or cheque in a bank or pay a bill. Her constant answer when asked why she has no interest in the life beyond her home is: “Why do I need to know? You (Sachin) are there to know and understand all that.” She cannot exist without her husband and she is least bothered when her friends joke about it to her.

She appeared with her husband Sachin on the show as a couple for dancing in Nach Baliye and they won the competition. They were the senior most contestants of the show. They performed well and became the winner of the show.

Radhaa Sharma, the matriarch of the family has single handedly brought up her three daughters instilling in them the right values and principles. She is the focal point of the family and binds them all together with her unconditional love. A constant source of inspiration & encouragement for her daughters; Radhaa has complete faith in their talents and capabilities. She believes that with self confidence and a positive attitude her daughters can fulfill all their dreams.

She is Ishaan’s badi maa [Chachi], Esshwar’s wife and the elder daughter in law of the house. No one in the house talks about her husband who left her and settled in America. Eeshwar not only cut all ties with Shailja but got re-married there. But Shailja didn’t leave his house or his family. Gayatri (Dadi) has always supported Shailja & stood by her. Shailja has handled the responsibility of the house with aplomb and she runs entire the family with perfection. Strict and a disciplinarian in nature, she controls everyone. She is respected and obeyed by all the children in the house. Even Aalok [Ishaan’s father] depends on her opinion for any decision. Shailja has a son Inder and daughter Panna. Both are married now. Inder is married to Rajni and they have a daughter called Meethi. Panna is married to Raunak.
