One of the best judges of Indian Idol, after Javed Akthar and Sonu Nigam. I never liked Anu Malik, but this time he has been doing better. Salim is a soft, and sweet personality who gives constructive comments and words it in such a way that the contestant takes it to heart and improves.

Hello Salim,
First of all I have become a fan of yours by watching Indian Idol and then listening to your Inspirational songs, especially when words like ALI, Mowla and Shukar Hamdullilah are used to me it is prayer - meditation in the best form possible. Thank you!
One thing I thought i should bring to your attention, I may be wrong but when Asha Bhosle says at the beginning of the competition on Indian Idol, that Devendra is Lata Mangeshkars favorite, how is it fair on other contestants you are judges you are not supposed to say who is your favorite and who is not. Judges are supposed to Judge, not announce their favorites till it is over, very, very disappointed in this because after each song was over i hated watching biased comments on favorites.. Please don't get me wrong I have deepest respect for all you Judges especially Asha Bhosle but fair is fair.
