Biography:

Madhuri Dixit was born in a Marathi-speaking Koknastha Hindu Brahmin family. She was born to Shankar Dixit and Sheela Dixit. She has got two sisters, Rupa and Bharati, and brother, Ajit. Dixit attended Divine Child High School and Mumbai University and studied to be a microbiologist. She is a trained Kathak dancer.

She is known for her famous hundred watt smile and appealing grace.

Madhuri is called as the dancing diva of Bollywood.  She is famous for her dance sequences accompanying Bollywood songs such as "Ek Do Teen" (from Tezaab), "Humko Aaj Kal Hai" (from Sailaab), "Bada Dukh Deenha" (from Ram Lakhan), "Dhak Dhak" (from Beta), "Chane Ke Khet Mein" (from Anjaam), "Didi Tera Devar Deewana" (from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun...!), "Choli Ke Peechhe" (from Khalnayak), "Akhiyan Milaun" (from Raja), "Mera Piya Ghar Aaya" (from Yaraana), "Kay Sera Sera" (from Pukar), and "Maar Daala" (from Devdas).

Madhuri was first seen in the big screen in 1986 with two releases 'Abodh' and 'Swati', and from then continued to act in approximately 66 movies, as well has lent her voice as a playback singer in 'Devdas' and 'Wajood'. She has won approximately 12 awards from Filmare, Star Screen and Zee for her performances in 'Dil', 'Beta', 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun', 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Devdas', 'Raja', 'Mrityudand', and Lajja.

She was last seen in the big screen in Yash Chopra's Aaja Nachle which was her comeback in Bollywood. But, this film didn't do any great business at the box office.

In 2010 Madhuri was seen juding a dance show called Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 4 telecasted in Sony TV.

Personal Life:

In 1999 she got married to Dr. Sriram Madhav Nene, a Cardiovascular Surgeon, belonging to the same Caste as the Dixit family, and relocated to Denver, Colorado, U.S.A., where she subsequently gave birth to two sons, Arin and Ryan in March, 2003 and March 8, 2005 respectively.

Fashion:

Extremely famous for her hundred watt smile and appealing grace, is considered one of the Fashion diva in B Town.
