Hrithik Roshan has broken his silence after almost two years and the reason behind it are his sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan, shares a member of the Roshan family.

It was in the best interest of his kids that the father of two chose to present his side of the story in response to the public mudslinging at the hands of Kangana Ranaut over the past few months.

In a statement where he questioned the alleged affair between him and Ranaut as it had "no trail left behind" by way of "paparazzi pictures or memento".

Hrithik went on to add how he felt compelled to put forth his viewpoint so that he could "defend the truth because when truth suffers, the collective consciousness of society suffers, closer to home, families suffer. Children suffer."

His revelation surprised many since the actor had maintained a dignified silence on the subject so far.

He revealed that the children had a role to play in the actor's decision to speak up. His kids, Hrehaan and Hridhaan, are his priority and it broke his heart to see how the controversy, from allegations of an affair to a rumoured engagement in Paris to e-mails being leaked, had taken a toll on them.

The family member revealed, "Hrithik's family told him that enough was enough and now wasn't the time to keep silent. They all sat down and decided that Hrithik needed to take charge of the situation. If you read the last line of his statement, it mentions how children suffer if justice is denied. That is a very telling line. Does anybody have any idea what his children have gone through because of this circus?"

When Ranaut demanded a "public apology" from the actor on national television, the family convinced him to share his ordeal, lest his silence be misconstrued as his admission of guilt.

After having a heart-to-heart with father Rakesh Roshan, the anguished star understood that he had no choice but to react.

"Hrithik was insulted on Aap Ki Adalat. That affected him deeply. His family told him that if he doesn't speak up now, it will mean two things either he is guilty or he is too weak to respond. Neither was the case, so why shouldn't he speak up?"

Despite Ranaut's accusations during Simran promotions, he practiced restraint as he did not want to engage in a public spat.

"He spoke only after weeks. The intent is not to malign anyone but to save one's dignity."

The Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut controversy that broke out in March 2016 witnessed a new chapter yesterday as the actor took to his social media handle and offered his narrative.

if they had affair both were at fault bcoz hrithik was married...it's very wrong of him to hv an affair being a married man & it's equally wrong fr Kangana to hv an affair with married man/men

after reading Hrithik's side of story it seems to me that Kangana is lying it's not necessary that a boy alway show interest in a girl...a girl can show interest too
i really like kangana as an actress but it's not necessary that she should be good person & about Hrithik i liked him in some of his films too but i'm not fan of any of them...but seeing kangana's history that she didn't had gud rapport with her mom & to become an actress she ran away frm her house etc & had relationship with an elder man then with a new comer & then she is saying she had a relationship with some heros like akshay ,ajay devgan , hrithik etc besides her ex boyfriend & hrithik 's ex wife is saying the same thing that it was kangana who was after hrithik... & her ex boyfriend even said she was crazy about hrithik & the biggest question is how is it possible that she doesn't hv any pics ,video,selfie of them together & the pic she gave the media that was frm a party frm roshans where hrithik 's ex wife was there too sussanne khan posted the real pic which was edited where sussanne khan was removed frm the pic & Kangana 's face was placed on sussanne khan's face rest Allah know the best who is lying he can lie too but for me after reading all the things it looks kangana was after him anyway hope the truth comes out soon

@apoorvaarnav Your post is a perfect example of combining the issue of nepotism, acting abilities, flaws in the Hindi film industry all into a simple personal relationship issue. The issue is Kangana claiming there was a relationship, and Hrithik denying it. That's it. 2 consenting adults, both aware of Hrithik's marriage ( TO KANGANA FANS: She knows Hrithik was married and continued to have a relationship, so BOTH at fault) who may or may not have had a relationship BECAUSE there is No Evidence, Proof to Kangana's claims other than heresay. Hrithik, regardless of whether he is right or wrong DID submit his devices, and his passport to dispel Kangana's claim of an engagement in Paris. Kangana hasn't yet, tell her to submit any available evidence. Both Rakesh Roshan and Rangoli and the media should not interfere. This is a police matter, let them investigate and come to a conclusion.

I am disappointed by certain individuals who say she is justified in her behavior because she is a good, and yes a BRILLIANT actor. Justified to have relationships with married men, because she is a woman so it is only the men's fault, this I also noticed becomes converted to her acting abilities vs. boyfriend's superstar status, astonishing. Justified to be uncivil, making apparently bold statements about the flaws of the Hindi Film Industry and women's right when there have been so many other people doing the same, fighting the same battle but with dignity and without the use of controversies..

I am so done with Hrithik.
I have lost interest.
No woman will defame herself or bring to light sensitive issues unless there is something very deep or something that went terribly wrong..
For all the fake politeness and gentlemanly stuff hrithik does , more i am convinced that he is not that innocent as he displays..
I stand with kangana.
The BW is so polluted that all together they are trying to prove that kangana is crazy.. imagine the horrible lobby BW has. THey cannot stand the truth
Its like witch hunting all over again
First time a woman has exposed bollywood and this is the result.
And our audience is so gullible.!
