Clash Of The Titans
2008- What a year it has been! A year of unexpected box offices, a year of downfall of big budget movies, a year of some talented debuts giving competition to superstars and of course, how can we forget, a year of super clashes of the titans. We bring to you the top five titan matches of the year 2008! But who is the one celebrity that seems to have been admist most matches – read on to find out….
Srk Vs. Salman: Co-incidentally the fight always revolves around the cashing beauties of the Bollywood. Shahrukh and Salman’s fight at Katrina’s birthday party splashed a lot of gossip all over the media. Though the reason for the fight had nothing to do with the party, both claimed that their point of views have always been different. In fact, Salman was too busy giving interviews about his fight with Shah Rukh instead of promoting his film God Tussi Great Ho, which bombed at the box office. As far as star power goes, Srk ruled the box office with his hit Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (Bhoothnath being an average fare) while Salman’s Heroes was mediocre and God Tussi and Yuvvraj topped the list of duds of the year. We hope the year 2009 though brings a patch up between these two Khans as together in a film they can really deliever blockbusters – remember Kuch Kuch Hota Hai?
Srk Vs. Aamir: As the year comes to end, we hoped for a happy ending but in Bollywood this doesn’t seem to happen this year. Rab ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini released in the same month and all we saw was the two Khans throwing stones at each other in the media. The battle reached its high point when Srk claimed that he is a bigger brand in comparison to anyone else and Amir retorted by stating that Shah Rukh has been speaking about himself for the past 20 years. Who won the match and which film was a bigger hit – well we leave that upto the audience to decide! What do you think, I-Fians?
Imran Vs. Harman: Though both actors really weren’t in a battlefield the match started with both debutants making their first appearance in films. While Harman started with quite a buzz around Love Story 2050 the match flipped after the release of their respective films as Jaane Tu became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. But we wonder who has a bigger fan following. Gals who do you prefer, the cute Imran or the dashing Harman?
Salman Vs. John: While Salman was quite vocal about his angst against John the latter chose to remain quiet about his ‘Dostana’ having gone sour with Salman. But things may bet worse as Katrina is acting with John in her next film ‘New York’. But folks let’s all be as positive as John is and hopefully the fight will cool down.
And now its time to Crown Our Controversy Titan of The Year….And The Award Goes To…..
The One and Only Shah Rukh Khan! Unfortunately 2008 was a year of many matches for our Badshah as everyone from the Bachchans to Akshay to the Khans – Salman and Amir seemed to be fighting it off with Srk. And what’s more this year our King Khan was also not a quiet bystander as he spoke to the media about the controversies he was surrounded by. Well Shah Rukh we hope you don’t win this award next year and that all these controversies come to an end soon. Fans love to see their King Khan dancing away not fighting away. You are a romantic hero Shah Rukh not an action hero so here’s wishing you all the best for the upcoming year!
Well we hope you enjoyed this special Clash of the Titans and we will be back tomorrow with some of the popular controversies and cat fights amongst the female lot of Bollywood. Share with us your opinion on the politics within the industry this year. Who is at fault? Is the industry becoming filled with too much animosity? And who are actors that you want to see a patch up between?
