She burst into Bollywood with the hit item number "Khallas" in Ram Gopal Varma's "Company". Now, the glam doll has done a volte-face in the director's forthcoming venture "Darling". In the T-Series production, Isha has carried off a very demure and down-to-earth look. In the role of a typical middle-class Maharashtrian housewife, Isha is in sarees, sans all make-up.
Designer Komal Shahani had to put in much thought before deciding upon Isha's look, especially since she has always maintained a glamorous image on screen. However, once on the sets, Komal found Isha completely at ease with her simple get-up. "Isha was totally in her character and I found her very easy to mould," said Komal.
She added: "Keeping Isha's complexion in mind, I dressed her in aubergine, scarlet red and other bright colours. The character she plays is soft, which is contrasted by the vibrant coloured clothes she wears. I've tried to maintain the typical housewife look, but with a hint of style."
In fact, so impressed is the designer with Isha's comfort level that
she vouches the item girl can carry off Indian clothes better than the
small sexy things she has sported with confidence in so many films.
