For quite some time, certain Bollywood celebrities have been switching mediums between television and the silver screen after having a made a name for themselves on the bigger screen. Some have made special appearances on popular TV shows to promote their films while some have graced an entire season of a show despite being top actors in their respected fields.

BollyCurry takes you on a whistle stop tour of those celebs who have ventured to our telly screen and entertained us so.

Amitabh Bachchan

The Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan was the first to venture to the television world. He did so against the advice of many but his decision changed his life and career. Kaun Banega Crorepati was launched in 2000 and since then, Big B has won the hearts of millions with his hosting capabilities. Till date, no one can or has match his level of excellence. The megastar is said to charging around two crores per episode of this hit reality quiz show.

Hrithik Roshan

Dancing enthusiast, Hrithik is undeniably one of the most dashing males of Bollywood. He started his career on television as a judge in the dance reality show, Just Dance. He was reportedly being paid 1.75 crores every episode and handed over a cheque of three lakhs to every eliminated participant from his personal account. Viewer's loved his persona and aura and there is no doubt that with this show, Hrithik's fan following increased across the globe.

Madhuri Dixit Nene

Bollywood's dhak dhak girl, Madhuri Dixit Nene, appeared as a judge on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. With her charming smile, warmth and graceful moves, she has made her audience stay glued to their TV, hoping to see her grace the dance floor with elegance soon enough. Madhuri is charging around 50 lakhs per episode for participating in the show.

Salman Khan
The Dabangg, Salman Khan first appeared as the host of a game show called Dus Ka Dum on Sony where he was appreciated greatly for his kindness and friendliness. Loved by the common man and the celebrities the show had carved a pretty good niche for itself as it garnered the highest TRP for a game show. However after two seasons the show didn't come back for a third and instead we found Salman hosting the controversial reality show Bigg Boss during season 4 and his magic easily transcended once again. The charisma and screen presence of Sallu and his ability to connect with the audience managed to pull ratings in, with many watching the show to see his antics than what actually took place in the infamous house. According to industry sources, Sallu will be paid five crores per episode for season 7.

Preity Zinta

After taking a long break from Bollywood, Preity Zinta debuted as a host in the show Guinness World Records - Ab India Todega. She was a hit with the people who attempted to break the world records as well as with the audience who tuned in to witness her infectious energy. Preity apparently cashed around 35 lakhs per episode for this show.

Aamir Khan

The much acclaimed and highly appreciated show Satyamev Jayate marked the television debut of the perfectionist Aamir Khan. He received a whopping three crores per episode for this series, which focused on deep dark social issues faced by the citizens of India.

Indian television would be considered incomplete without a pinch of reality shows, and Bollywood celebrities and reality shows go hand-in-hand. These were only some of the stars that made it to the small screen but there are still quite a few who have made their mark in television. They bring a much needed freshness to an otherwise mundane telly schedule, so here's a huge round of applause for their work in closing the bridge between TV and cinema.

Give me 10% of that earning and see what I do with it.
It'll be better than continuously glamouring myself.

Seriously if these so called 'amazing celebs' gave a VERY SMALL percentage of their earning to charity then poverty would have been eradicated years ago.

I know they do SOMETHING but I'm lost on how they apparently do 'so much' but we have received minimum change. Trust me; I'm not blaming celebs for all the poverty in India but I'm questioning that if they are so 'kind' as the make themselves to be why no change?

And what a social worker he projected of himself Aamir Khan with this Satyamev Jayte thing... With 3 crores per episode for reforming the society, just goes to show how double faced some celebs are. Kudos to Salman and others who atleast come clean with it - this is buisness and they are here to earn!
