Popularly known as "the perfectionist", Aamir Khan celebrates his 47th birthday on March 14th, starting a new chapter of his already colorful life!

The actor has always been selective with regard to his choice of roles, having taken on fewer than 100 films in a career that has spanned over two decades thus far. His prioritization of quality over quantity has more than paid off in terms of felicitations: he has 3 National Awards, 4 Filmfare Awards, a Padmashree and even a Padmabhushan for his contribution to Indian Cinema.

Aamir began his career as a child actor with the film Yaadon ki Baarat in 1973 and debuted as a lead with Holi almost 11 years later.  His first commercial success was the blockbuster romance Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), in which he starred opposite Juhi Chawla.

Also involved in causes beyond the world of entertainment,"The Perfectionist" was appointed as the National Brand Ambassador of UNICEF for promoting child nutrition. He is also the Brand Ambassador of Incredible India.

Aamir married Kiran Rao in 2005 and they recently had a son whom they've named Azad. He has other two children from his previous marriage to Reena Dutt, a son named Junaid and a daughter called Ira.
