Aamir began his career as a child actor with the film Yaadon ki Baarat in 1973 and debuted as a lead with Holi almost 11 years later. His first commercial success was the blockbuster romance Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak
(1988), in which he starred opposite Juhi Chawla
Also involved in causes beyond the world of entertainment,"The Perfectionist" was appointed as the National Brand Ambassador of UNICEF for promoting child nutrition. He is also the Brand Ambassador of Incredible India.
Aamir married Kiran Rao
