Rumours have claimed recently, that Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine was shelved after Aishwarya Rai Bachachan 10 days into the shoot received medical confirmation of her much awaited pregnancy and opted out hence.

 

However, Bhandarkar's worry over the future of this indefinitely postponed project has now been put to rest, because after tedious rounds of persuasion with several prospective replacements, an actress has finally been found to step into Aishwarya's shoes.

 

For the uninitiated, this same role had originally (before Aishwarya) been offered to Bebo, who had to decline because citing date clashes and issues with the script. After the now expecting Bachchan bahu stepped down, the hunt gained momentum again,. Talks went on to approach the likes of Tabu, then Priyanka Chopra for the role, but no other actress was ready to step in and offend the Bachchan family.

 

Turns out Kareena Kapoor the initial choice is ready to take up the offer, this time round! Official statement on her behalf has been issued to confirm that she will be playing the lead in Heroine. The director accordingly is one happy man, because the script initially had been written keeping Bebo in mind anyway.
