Ahmed Khan has decided to scrap a football film that he was intending to make. The film, titled Yahaan Ke Hum Sikander, was supposed to star Shahid Kapoor, John Abraham, Nana Patekar, Ayesha Takia, Sneha Ullal and Rimi Sen, with music that would have been composed by A. R. Rahman.
Ahmed's decision to shelve the film has two main reasons. The first is that he believes the popularity of football has gone down in the years since he planned the movie. Secondly, the movie, which was meant to be about a football team that has to play against England, followed a storyline similar to Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, in which John also played a footballer. With such close similarities, Ahmed felt it was better to not make the movie.Whatever the reason may be, we are definitely disappointed at not being able to see Shahid and John share screen space for the first time!
