As if in accordance to its name, the movie is distinctly reminiscent of John Travolta's power packed performance in the 1977 release Saturday Night Fever. In an Indian avatar of the character Hollywood superhero Travolta had then essayed, Akshay Kumar will be seen in action influenced by his predecessor in this respect.
Khiladi Kumar has admitted to having watched the original version from the 70's many times over. For those who ever swooned over the trend setting Travolta moves, Akki will be seen shaking a leg with the gorgeous Aish, in similar dance steps to the beats of a song in the romantic retro trip movie.
Akshay elaborated that the 70's were full of energy, and it has kept alive the retro trend. There is something about the then fashion and music, Akki was heard to say, which makes it funky even today and perhaps it will always be so.
Director Vipul Shah talking of the movie concept said that its plot unfolds progressively backward in time.
To see Akki and Aish share screen five years after Raj Kumar Santoshi's Khakee we expect will be a treat - the Travolta factor only adds to our anticipation!
