The Fashion Police is always on the prowl around Bollywood grounds looking for celebrities to critique. During the time when all things are Holi, why should we sit the festivities without our favorite pastime? Thus, we bring to you actresses that were seen in multi-colored outfits from recent times. Scroll down to join us!
Seen in a printed Surily Goel colorful maxi was Preity Zinta attending the premiere of her movieIshkq in Paris in May 2013. The choice of print is commendable; it is neither too boisterous - as some prints dangerously can be - to overshadow her petite body structure, nor is it too small to be missed. The month of May belonging to the welcoming of Summer, the maxi was definitely the perfect choice by Zinta.
We always look forward to Kangana Ranaut's appearances and this one didn't disappoint at all. The unorthodox actress, who was recently busy with the promotions of her latest flick Queen, was spotted wearing this colorful and eye-catching anarkali by Manish Arora who has done a fabulous job on it. The border at the bottom of the anarkali and the work on the neck match which gives it some symmetry. What doesn't work too well is the loud patch of yellow but we can't nitpick, the overall look is stunning.
While Lootera might not have done as well at the Box Office as critics had predicted, Sonakshi Sinha and her various wardrobes sure managed to grab the fluttering attention of the Fashion Police. Wearing a striped dress by Dev R Nil and an overcoat cum shirt by Masaba in translucent yellow, the look was mediocre as best. We love the dress and think it looks good on her impressive height but the shirt, which is gorgeous on its own, takes away the beauty of it.
Seen earlier in January on the runway of Mumbai Fashion Week was Priyanka Chopra. The neon green saree with the neon orange bordering and a contrasting sparkling-gold border, all topped up with a dull silver blouse, the look was the perfect to go. The sheer-ness of it all and the minuscule, sleeveless blouse had us slightly worried but if anyone can pull it off, it's Ms. Chopra's svelte figure.
Pulling off the gaon ki larki avatar is Anushka Sharma who gave an in-character appearance at the sets of Nach Baliye Season 6. The yellow crushed lehenga paired with the dull gold embroidered choli and the lighter pink duppatta which was worn on the side like a saree are all designed by Masaba. We can't deny she looks good but something is getting our goat. Perhaps the untidiness? We're not sure.
If there's any outfit on this list that is truly multi-colored, then this is it. Dressed in a striped color-rushed jumpsuit is Kajol Devgn who chose to wear the outfit to Lonavla Khandala Citizens Forum event. As gaudy as the outfit is, we can't deny it looks good on the talented actress. Maybe because we're not used to such bouts of flashiness from her? We would definitely suggest improvements though. Perhaps a different colored belt to balance the excitement?
While many can pull colorful outfits, many in B-Town just simply lack that sense of dressing or confidence. Here's hoping that this year will be an overall pleasure for us when it comes to dressing in more than one tone. We hope to hear from you who you think was the one who stood out for all the right reasons. Until then, Happy Holi!
