For better or for worse, the phenomenon of change remains inevitable. Tracing some of the popular faces in today's cinema to their early ventures in Bollywood, we at BollyCurry found that the differences were apparent in most as far as appearances go, while in some the transformations have indicated radical improvements in histrionic skills.

We present to you a blast from the past, in contrast with what stands today for some prominent tinsel town celebs, tracing thence the long ways they have each come.

As for you, we welcome opinions and verdicts, and healthy discussions - the more the merrier!

Kajol
Bekhudi (1992) to My Name is Khan (2010)

Kajol is getting lovelier and livelier with time. She is blessed with immense talent and she knows how to carry herself. She is neither watch calorie obsessive, nor fussy about strict sense of fashion. What she looks like is more than often what appeals to her, and her alone. If we talk of trend setters, Kajol may well be the first one who was unfazed to don her powered glasses at social occasions like the Filmfare Awards, in times when being bespectacled held no pride! And we see her now - her vivacity has only seen a rise from Bekhudi to My Name Is Khan. .

Shahrukh Khan
Deewana (1992) to My Name Is Khan (2010)

If accolades and awards are anything to go by, SRK has every right to be tagged King Khan. From Deewana to My Name Is Khan he has compelled critics to appreciate his talent and audiences to worship the literal ground he walks upon. The serious, the comic, the good and the bad - there are shades of acting next to none that Shah Rukh has not explored in the two main decades of his career so far. And grown, he definitely has!

Aishwarya Rai
Aur Pyar Ho Gaya (1997) to Jodha Akbar(2008)

Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai made her debut with Aur pyaar Ho Gayaa. She was the pretty blue eyed girl who could do with more than a lesson or two in acting. Gradually however, with the advent and approach of right people in her life (including ex beau Salman Khan) Aish picked up the threads and grew exponentially. He started his career as an action star and for whatever other avatars he has donned, Akshay has become the iconic Action Kumar of tinsel town. Of course, to his kitty of expertise has been added the genre of romantic comedies, or just sheer comedies! From debut release Saugandh to De Dana Dan, Akki has grown in more than three dimensions personally and professionally - and of course lookwise!

Madhuri Dixit
Abodh (1984) to Aaja Nachle (2007)

All those times that she had the audiences swoon and sigh over her gorgeous smile, the lady was compared to the older, late legend _ Madhubala. Madhuri is a dancing queen and an amazing actress - a feat she has accomplished in coming a long way from the days of Abodh to Aaja Nach Le. An easily ageless beauty who's sunshine smile remains her unwavering asset!

Saif Ali Khan
Aashiq Awaara (1993) to Kurbaan (2009)

Chote Nawab made his entry with a cute lover boy image in and as Aashiq Aawaara. He may not have stolen many hearts right away, the years that followed saw him rise and shine. Dil Chahta Hai, Hum Tum, Kal Ho Na ho were the blockbuster steps on his path to success. There was the phenomenal gray shade of Langda Tyagi in Omkara. And more recently there was the mature dashing masculinity in Race! From then to now, Saif is truly gone from boyhood to manhood!

Dil Se (1998) to Heroes (2008)

The dimpled beauty and one of the finest actresses of the Indian cinema. Those who were not smitten by her bubbly and lovely nature were taken by that smile. Her dressing sense is that of a girl next door who knows what she wants, and gets it. From the debut in Dil se to the recent release Heroes, from the curls of Dil Chahta Hai, to the short hair of Lakshay, she has been the style queen with her different hairstyles and makeovers.

Salman Khan
Biwi Ho to Aisi (1988) to Veer (2010)

The waxed male chests that set many a girl hearts fluttering were his giving to Bollywood. From his boy-next-door look in debut movie Biwi ho toh Aisi to that hard chiseled body from Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya (remember Oh oh Janne Jaana?!) Salman has gone places, and changed looks. WHat hasn't changed is the appeal of the man he is, from the debut to the recently released Veer.

Qayamat se Qayamat Tak made Aamir Khan famous overnight - courtesy his acting skills, the boy next door look and the attractive smile.Top of the league Perfection Khan has commanded his skills on screen and in direction.During his vocation he has experimented with various looks - the cropped hair modern boy with that trend setting gotee of Dil Chahta Hai, the work out abs from Ghajini, the village lad from Lagaan ... and finally the college undergrad from 3 Idiots. Aamir certainly has been there, done it all - and done it well!

Priyanka Chopra
Andaaz (2003) to Pyaar Impossible (2010)

Miss World 2000, Piggy Chops has been the glam girl from day one. Still there have been experiments with her get ups, especially the hair, and Priyanka has carried off more than many with grace and ease! From Andaaz to Dostana - the many shades of this girl have received as many accolades!

There was the timid girl of a border area village in Refugee and there is the geek girl next door doctor to be from 3 Idiots. If acting is genetic, it is running like blood in her veins. From the plump Refugee to the zero size Kambakht Ishq Bebo - Kareena has changed in many ways!

Some charms never fade - for all her altering facades as per the requirement of her roles in the long line up of movies, Juhi's smile has never failed its magic! It begun well with Qayamat se Qayamat fame, there was the bindaas runaway girl in Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, then k.k.k.k.Kiran in Darr ... to Jhankar Beats, My Brother Nikhil, Luck By Chance and the likes! His tranformation from the clean shaven raw look in Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya to the current beard and long hair preference is a change that has reflected not only in terms of physical appearance. If she was once Miss Universe, we have no reason to look disdainful how she looked some many years ago. But with changing fashions and trends, she has altered her own appearance.
