Hiten who is more appreciated in a humorous character aspires to grow with the character of Bad Boy in the industryTell us about your present projects?
As of now I have two movies in the pipeline one is Muskura Kay Dekh Zara it's a Love story and I'll be essaying a negative character for the first time. The second movie is Benny & Bablu it's an out and out comedy.How was your experience working on your first project in the industry?
It was a real good experience. As a verse in Holy Geeta inscribes 'one never gets anything before time or more than one's destiny.'
Tell us something about your recent movie Bachna Ae Haseeno?
It was a splendid experience. I essayed the character of Sachin and it was a comic character but with some variation.Except for acting you have attained degree in computer graphics and animation and as the era is entering Bollywood movies so did you think of trying hands in animation?
No, I didn't re-think about pursuing as a profession. It has taken a back seat now and I try hands on it just as a hobby nothing more.Tell us something about your transition to acting with Kishore Namit Kapoor acting classes?
As I wasn't so keen about acting I had actually joined the classes just to kill time as a different aspect of personality development. But with time my interest in acting grew and my outlook towards it also changed. So it was then that I decided to pursue it as a profession.You are regarded as a 'living on the edge kind of a person' how do you look at it?
I completely stand by the words. I love doing adventurous activities like one of them would be Sky Diving, car racing it gives me so much rush that I just can't express the excitement I undergo.You are also an amazing swimmer tell us something about that?
Yes I love that sport too in fact at a very young age of 13 years I had done Scuba diving with a trainer from ocean which I used to hide such activities from my parents (smiles).Apart from movies you have also performed in Television how has been the experience?
Yes I have done many serials like Yeh Hai Mere Apne, Ada, Kasauti Zindagi ki, CID and many more which I can't recollect but the experience hasn't been that great. I feel there is no creative satisfaction in television serials.Tell us something about appreciation for your acting skills from audience?
Oh! People still remember me as the guy of Tere Liye
. I have been receiving a lot of compliment from them I have atleast 4000 members in my fan club. It feels great to know that your hard work has been paid off well.What kind of character would you like to portray in future?
I wish to picture the character of a Bad Boy like Gabber but a new age one (smiles). Not that melo-dramatic and very loud character but yet powerful something like American gangster.What is your passion except acting?
I work as an animal activist since 18 years; I do free lancing for 3-4 stray dogs NGO. I have 4 stray dogs at my place itself and apart from that I look around 80 dogs in Lokhandwala.As you are the son of veteran actor and comedian Kanwarjit Paintal so what kind of impression did he have on you?
I have grown up on sets attending shootings with dad but my parents never forced me to get into the acting profession but now that I'm into it he is very critical when it comes to giving advice.So has it helped you to firm your grounds in the industry?
No I haven't used anything except his surname in this industry. I have grown on strengths of my own talent. In fact at nascent age it worked as an disadvantage when people looked up to me also as just a comedian because my dad was one. So other way round I had more hardships in portraying my real talents to the industry.Some directors with whom you wish to work in future?
Vishal Bharadwaj, Yash Chopra and Raju Hirani.Any recent movie which you felt like being a part of?
3 Idiots as comedy is in my genes. That was my kind of a movie.How is Hiten as a person?
I think I'm very chilled out, funny but I'm also short tempered.Where do you see yourself 5 years down the line?
Doing some good work, appreciated for it at least 50% of what my dad was applauded for.
