UTV Software Communications Ltd. today announced that it temporarily withdraws all its plans for dealings with the Pakistan market in an endeavor to support the Indian Government in demanding stricter action against terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

UTV has decided not to release any of its forthcoming films in the Pakistan market until this issue is satisfactorily resolved. Also UTV is withdrawing plans of launching Bindass and Bindass Movies, two prominent channels from its stable, in this market.

“Pakistan is an important market and we have the highest regard for its people but in the present situation it is important for all companies to support our government in its demand for strong action by the government of Pakistan against terrorism. We would be happy to resume business in Pakistan once we all see affirmative action.

We have so far had a wonderful relationship with our distributors there and it is unfortunate that these events have come to pass and we hope that this matter is resolved between the two governments at the earliest” clarifies Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO of UTV Motion Pictures.

I completelyy agree with ugababe!!....i am one of those indian patriotic muslims, who agrees that the attack was done by pakistan, and that India has everyy right to be angry!.....

But i cannot agree with theatre who said that india is done with pakistanis and muslims, or something like that. You cannot regard the entire religion promoting terrorism, these are TERRORISTS, who do NOT have a religion, and they do NOT have feelings, they are heartless human beings, who do not care for humanity, and will be punished in the hell fire even according to Islam.

So please, its a request to all indians, do not make this a hindu muslim thing. This is a fight against terrorism against which all religions and people should unite.
Personally, i love India, and if i have to hear from my own indian brothers and sisters that they are sick of muslims, it would really hurt me, and i am sure it wud hurt they other indian muslims as well.
Jai Hind!

I don''t think its about blaming the people of Pakistan or the Islamic religion. Its about showing the governement of Pakistan that enough is enough. Something has to be done about the terrorism that is coming from within the country. I know of plenty of Indian Muslims that are also fed up of the Pakistani government''s inability to bring change or take responsibility. So it''s not a hindu muslim issue and don''t try to make it one. India''s muslims are proud to be indian and stand up for what is right. If more production houses like UTV and other Indian companies that deal with Pakistan make the same decision then maybe, finally we''ll be able to see some action for change in Pakistan.
This is just my opinion and as you can see its not targeted towards making a Hindu vs Muslim issue.

I sincerely pray that one day India and Pakistan can co-exist peacefully but right now India has every right to stand up for the country and its people.

Agreed DB. It''s people like you all that are adding salt to wounds and awakening fury within others.

Just one thing I can''t help but to add: Indo-Pak split in 1947 because of their differences - Pakistan was to be a Muslim nation, lead by the Muslim League. A majority of Pakistanis are Muslim, but this does not mean that anything done by a Muslim is Pakistan''s fault, and anything done by a Hindu is India''s fault.

If we''d stop pointing fingers at each other maybe we''d finally get something done once and for all. 61 years is a mighty long time.
