Chennai, Nov 28 (IANS) Tamil film director Ameer said Friday that allegations that he and a friend hosted a party to celebrate Tamil Tigers chief Velupillai Prabhakaran's birthday were 'baseless'.
'Both Seeman and I have to be here (in Madurai) to sign in a court every day as per the conditions of our bail orders. Therefore allegations of our hosting a party in Chennai are baseless,' Ameer told IANS.
'Vested interests acting against us are spreading false rumours to hurt us professionally, financially and belittle the cause of the Tamil minority in Sri Lanka,' he added.
Seeman and Ameer were briefly jailed in October following charges of fomenting separatism during a protest in Rameshwaram, a port city 100 km south of here.

Let Prabhakaran and Pottu Amman surrender to India, if they are interested in saving their people. Then India will act.
