We all know who is Pahlaj Nihalani now, thanks to the 'Udta Punjab' controversy! This time he is the news as he chopped down Ae Dil Hai Mushkil's intimate scenes and his reasons for doing the same are pretty lame!
In an interview with a popular daily, he revealed about the reason for such decision. The censor board has slashed down the kissing scenes of Anushka Sharma by 50 percent and also few other scenes.
The report quoted him saying," We are following guidelines. Aamir Khan, James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Ranbir Kapoor are intense actors. They also kiss intensely. When producers want a U/A certificate for their film, the intensity of intimacy has to be toned down for younger viewers. (But) If you have an A certificate, you are entitled to kiss to your heart's content."
But it seems he slept during the preview of Befikre's trailer which has 12 kisses! The board also gave it a U/A certificate. According to a report on a popular daily he validated those kisses saying it was expressing love and just for grabbing attention!

So he cut Anu's kissing scenes and saying Ranbir kissing too intensely? LOL And Befikre trailer was full of vulgarity yet they passed it? How much money did Adi give u, Nihalani?

In other words, the actors should stop being intense and good in intimate scenes if they want their movie to go through censor board without any drama! Why don't they just use body doubles since censor board demands removal of passion from intimate scenes? Actors need not work hard to make the scene look convincing and scenes would look less intimate if all we get to see is back of characters' heads!

Totally hypocrite ! Befikre movie looks like a b grade movie. Which will be unable to see with family. Totally unexpected of director like Aditya Chopra to make like that movie !! What a change from lovely rab ne banadi jodi to this cheap movie !!! Censor board is so hypocrite ! They should have used scissors there !! Not appropriate scenes for family with little kids.
