New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) With a soundtrack of 17 songs - more than any Bollywood blockbuster, English film 'Mamma Mia!' will be released with the lyrics of each number flashing below to equip the audience to karaoke.

'Mamma Mia', starring Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan, is a film adaptation of the West End stage musical that is based on the songs of successful pop group ABBA.

The film is releasing Friday.

With the provision of the lyrics of the songs that are subtitled in English, the audience will be able to sing along with the songs when they are played in the film, said a press release.

The film mostly has ABBA chartbusters like 'Honey, honey', 'Money, money, money', 'Mamma mia', 'Dancing queen', 'Voulez vous', 'The winner takes it all', 'Take a chance on me', ' I have a dream' and others.

There are additional songs in the film that are also composed by ABBA member Benny Andersson. Like the stage musical, the film's title originates from the group's 1975 chart-topper 'Mamma Mia'.

While Streep heads the cast of the film playing the role of single mother Donna Sheridan, Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard play the three potential fathers to Donna's daughter Sophie. Sophie's role is essayed by Amanda Seyfried.

The actors have sung the songs in their original voice.

The film revolves around an independent, single mother who is about to let go of the daughter she has raised alone. On a quest to find the identity of her father to walk her down the aisle, the daughter brings back three men from her mother's past.

According to the release, the film fared well at the box office in the US.

It was earlier released in Greece, Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Sweden, the Philippines, United States, Canada, and Israel.
