"The character which Parineeti is playing in the film is very tough. There is madness in the character and the actress playing the role needed to translate that madness on screen...Parineeti has that energy and her sense of comic timing is amazing. I thought she would be the right person who could pull off the role," said Mathew.
"She is a clown she can make you laugh 24 hours. I wanted a cute actress and relatable to the audience and these qualities were there in Parineeti," he added.
The director who decided to debut with the rom-com genre says it's a very challenging to make such films.
"Rom-com is a very tough genre. There are many rom-com films which have been made so you have to create something new which is different and challenging," he said.
