Director Zoya Akhtar is critical of the recently released adult comedy "Grand Masti" and says that it is the kind of film she would never give her money to.

"'Grand Masti'... I wouldn't even enter (a theatre) to watch it. I have seen the promo and I know that it is not for me. It is appalling, it will make me very irritable and there is no way I am going to give money to this film," the 40-year-old said here Friday.

Starring Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Ritesh Deshmukh, "Grand Masti" has also entered the Rs. 100 crore club. The film faced a lot of flak for its overtly sexual and explicit content.

Zoya says she has no issues with a bad film which makes money. But she feels awful when good films fail to get enough business.

"I feel sad when good films don't make money. When bad films make money, I am like 'something had to come out of it, he has no talent so he might as well make some cash'. But a good filmmaker should make money," she said at the launch of film critic Anupama Chopra's book "100 Films To See Before You Die".

Asked which film she feels could have made more money, Zoya said, "'Udaan(2010)'".

"It could have made a lot more money. My own film 'Luck By Chance' could have done a lot better," she added.

The trailer itself was disgusting to start with. I thought it would be a flop but am surprised that it made it to the 100 Crore club

people have started liking such crap

but it's a supply and demand situation

obviously many people liked the film so it's earning 100cr+ so congrats to the producers

Its my humble request from all the people over the world: stop comparing Hollywood from Bollywood. because they both are different worlds, poles apart...
if Bollywood can't make a movie like THE ARTIST, SOUND OF THE MUSIC, INSPECTION, READER, CITIZEN KANE, GONE WITH WIND, LORD OF THE RINGS and then HOLLYWOOD also can't make movies like DDLJ, kuch kuch hota hai, kal ho na ho, kabhie kabhie, kabhie khushi kabhie gham, dil toh pagal hai, veer zara and jab we met...So By naming these movies i want to tell you these are both poles apart worlds, and in first place don't compare these industries...

and secondly in Hollywood their culture, their life style and their thinking was completely different to that of Bollywood so don't compare it with Bollywood...

and moreover movies like hangover or the american pie which you guys talking about don't present women in such disgusting way like the movie Grand Masti did...i'm sorry to say this, but its true...
I didn't watch this movie but my friend did and said how could you enjoy this movie and still claim you respect women" and she left after interval and i also been following the reviews from the critics where i learned this fact...

Access Bollywood gave the movie 0/4 stars as well and criticized the movie's "tone-deafness and sexism",

moreover, it's hard to believe that a movie this out-of-touch could be made in 2013 and gross 100 crore and movies like udaan, Dor, LunchBox even can't able to overcome its budget...God
its only happen in India.,...Keep It up

The poster itself looks disgusting one holding banana n other on sausage! ..

But then i wud again say the director warned before releasing it!

But its realy depressing the movies eg dor who deserve a standing applaud are ellipsed here in India !

N Talking abt Hollywood i wud say their thinking is different so nt to blame them !!
In hollywood if ppl praise movies like hangover ,they also equally praise movies like The Persuit of Happyness !! But here in India the case is different!
