A week after Jiah Khan's suicide, her mother Rabiya Khan Monday opened up about the reason behind her daughter's death, claiming the drastic step was not due to the lack of assignments but due to her troubled relationship with her alleged boyfriend Suraj, son of actor Aditya Pancholi.
"My point is to tell you the truth. It is being said that she was depressed and had no work, but it was not the case, Rabiya, who has three daughters - Jiah, Karishma and Kavita - said at a press conference.
"She was attending atleast three to four events a month. She was making money and was living comfortably in her house with two maids and even had a car and a driver. It was the insecurity that her love was not respected and recognised that was killing her day by day.
"Jiah was a poetess...she had a diary in which she wrote all her poems. I wanted my daughters to recite them at prayer ceremony, but we couldn't find the diary. I couldn't get myself to touch Jiah's things, so I told my daughter (Kavita) to look. She (Jiah) had a Prada wallet box and her sister found the letter in it," said Rabiya.
All Jiah wanted was love, she added.
The letter, where Jiah had penned her troubled relationship with her Suraj, was found by her sister Kavita Saturday and was handed over to the police.
Although the letter doesn't mention any name but is talks about the sorry state of Jiah's relationship.
"After all the pain, the rape, the abuse, the torture I have seen previously I didn't deserve this. I didn't see any love or commitment from you. I just became increasingly scared that you would hurt me mentally or physically...," the letter said.
"I aborted our baby when it hurt me deeply. You promised me once we made it to one year we would get engaged. All you want in life is partying, your women and your selfish motives. All I wanted was you and my happiness you took both away from me," the letter added.
Talking about the letter, Rabiya confessed that there were many things in it that she wasn't aware of.
"I knew about his (Suraj's) abusing her and not respecting her and also about the presents and the Goa trip. But I found out other aspects, which were hurtful," she said.
"The letter does not have a name, so who it is addressed to is something you can only ask Jiah. But because of the incidents in the past and what she told me, all of these things point out to Suraj Pancholi," she said.
Talking about the things Jiah shared with her, she said that they had a detailed discussion about Jiah's relationship with Suraj when she had visited her in London a few months back.
"When she came to London during her birthday, I saw that she always had tears in her eyes. I asked her if this was regarding Suraj and she started crying...she said that he abuses her and shouts at her. When he drinks, he can't handle himself," Rabiya said.
"I asked her to lay off for a while. I told her that in a relationship space is most important... She had tried to cut down, out of his 10 calls she used to answer just two. This was the time when I came to know about the nature of the boy," she added.
Jiah had confided in her mother that Aditya Pancholi was unhappy about his son's relationship with her.
"She said that ever since it came in the paper that Jiah Khan and Suraj are dating, the father created a scene. He told him that Jiah was so much elder to him, but Jiah told me that it was hardly a year. So Suraj was aware that his father didn't like the relationship," Rabiya said.
She also clarified that Aditya Pancholi came to see Jiah's body only after the police had come.
"In my house, only Anju (Mahendru) and her friend came. I called my family members...three to four families came. After three hours, Aditya Pancholi came and Suraj didn't even come. He must have got to know, but he never came," she said.

if her mother knew that the boy is abusing her why didn't she stop her daughter from meeting him or why didn't she suggest her daughter to file a police complain against her bf.
People commit suicide like ending like is a game and end to all problems.
Suicide is an illness - many relationships do not work - does that mean all these women should commit suicide. We have all been in relationships - a relationship has to be mutual. Emotional blackmail should not be part of it. When Aamir left his wife Reena, she did not commit suicide although he was in the wrong. When Ash left Salman, he did not commit suicide. We should not promote suicide - it is wrong. if something does not work - should you kill yourself. People out there who are in troubled relationships - please do not kill yourself - become spiritual.
To many people it might seem that she left this world for a guy but in all honesty no one really knows what she was going through. Lets say she was getting offers and her career was doing well like her mom mentioned but sometimes its hard to not let go of someone if you love someone so deeply. It was so clear when she said she went beyond all barriers for him. She even aborted the baby because of him. It was clear she loved this guy who didn't value her but my question was how come the mother and the sister didn't take this seriously or even try to tell her to move to London and take a break from India. If she had done that I'm sure she would have come out of this trauma. Poor thing. All I want to say is RIP! It really doesn't matter who is right or wrong now. She's gone and whether suraj abused her or not doesn't matter she won't come back. I just hope this is a learning lesson for him and many other people in the world.
Jiah made a big mistake hooking up with Aditya's son. Apple doesnt fall far from the tree. Aditya was an abusive husband to Zarina Wahab and hes an alcoholic too. Aditya himself is younger than wife Zarina by 6 yrs! So what was he cribbing about? Jiah shd have dumped Suraj and got counselling instead of killing herself. Anyway hoping for peace for her soul!
Until media doesnt publish the actual hand writing expert report of the letter which is supposedly found, I am having hard time believing this story of Jiah's mother...RIP Jiah...may god bless your soul...But, if he was that abusive and he raped her like the article mentions, why no police complaint was done...why didn't she leave him? And why all of a sudden Jiah's mom is targeting this guy...Why not as soon as she died, her mother told the police about Jia and his relationship?? because sometimes she claims jia didn't share anything, sometimes she says jia did share with her...only after police looked into jia's telephone records, and his name came up, and Only after Suraj was investigated, few days after that the letter comes out...Even than her mother didn't say anything about suraj, she kept quite ..until now they kept on saying that jia was depressed because, she didn't get some assignment from the audition she had given...I am not supporting the abuse, but, there is way too much contradiction in this story, and points which are being brought forward in front of the public...I will give the guy benefit of the doubt until he its legally proven that he abetted to suicide...

May her sould reat in peace
Secondly, she was a bright and educated girl, why did she choose suicide ? She could have easily walkes away from that bastar* and found a guy wayyy bettwr who would treat her right and reapect her
I peraonally think thr is more to her death than the bf
i feel for her...and what she had to endure...but...suicide is not the answer...if the guy is an a*s...there is always the option to walk away...why stay in a relationship when its all abuse, disrespect and humiliation? she deserved better...sad that she wasnt able to stand up for herself...i hope she can now rest in peace
