Actor Abhishek Bachchan says that National Award-winning eminent filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh, who passed away Thursday, was the only director with whom the entire Bachchan family had worked.
"Absolutely shocked with the news of the passing of Ritu da. A dear friend and a great director and a wonderful, wonderful human. RIP," Abhishek, 37, tweeted.
"Just realised that Ritu da was the only director that my family have all worked with individually. Pa (Amitabh) - 'The Last Lear', Ma (Jaya) - 'Sunglass'… Aishwarya Rai Bachchan- 'Chokher Bali', and 'Raincoat' and me - 'Antarmahal'," he further tweeted.
Ghosh, who was suffering from pancreatitis, passed away at his South Kolkata residence in sleep around 7.30 a.m. following a massive cardiac arrest, the film industry sources said. He was 49.

For being, arguably, the best Indian filmmaker of
this generation, for speaking out aloud about the
fluidity of sexuality and gender, for not conforming
to any norms and redefining individuality, for living
a life that would make compelling cinema in its own
element. For the linguistic ambidexterity, that made
your discourses in both Bangla and English a delight
to listen to/read/observe, for the wit, creativity,
the poetic finesse. It is a huge loss for the nation.
Indeed, we are merely left to mourn the talent that
has left our world.
