"We would never try to attempt a 'Mughal-e-Azam', because we could never try to beat a 'Mughal-e-Azam'. We can only do films which we have got the ingredients for and feel that we can better," Ajay told reporters here.
"Otherwise, what is the point of making a film. So you should never touch
classics," he added.
The comment came as a reaction to Sridevi's past comment that "'Himmatwala (2013)' was no 'Mughal E Azam'. Sridevi had played the lead heroine in the original, opposite Jeetendra.
The remake, releasing March 29, is directed by Sajid Khan, and features southern actress Tammannah.
