Reacting to the imposition of 10 percent surcharge by the government on those who earn more than Rs.1 crore a year, actor Suniel Shetty says the government should start imposing tax on corruption.
"If corruption is eradicated from our system, it leaves us with so much money that it can support the poor and needy. If they keep on increasing the taxes, then people will think of alternate income and will not disclose it," the 51-year-old said here Thursday at a charity exhibition Aariash organised by his wife Mana.
"I think if everyone thinks beyond scams and does his work sincerely, then it (India) is a secure country to live in. I think taxes should be imposed on corruption instead of imposing taxes over incomes," he added.
