'Race 2' collects Rs.51.35 crore over first weekend

Abbas-Mustan's "Race 2" might have opened to mixed reviews, but the film seems to be minting money at the box office. The action thriller has managed to earn Rs.51.35 crore in its opening weekend.

Abbas-Mustan's "Race 2" might have opened to mixed reviews, but the film seems to be minting money at the box office. The action thriller has managed to earn Rs.51.35 crore in its opening weekend.

Made at Rs.60 crore, the film released across 3,200 screens. It went on to earn Rs.15.12 crore Friday, Rs.20.72 crore Saturday and Rs.15.51 crore Sunday.

The movie is a sequel to 2008 film "Race".

While Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor reprise their roles, the the new additions to the franchise are John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandes and Ameesha Patel.

How ironic, in Race 2 Bipasha Basu's character was killed by men on John Abraham's character's orders... talk about bad blood after their break up lol!

horrid movie...i cannot believe i paid to watch this at the theaters...predictable story line...fairly decent acting...horrible special effects...the only thing this movie has going for it is a few songs and the fact that we get to see John Abraham shirtless...

the overall main revenge story was good but somewhere I felt like too much twists made it not as good as the first one. the songs were the bestest I have heard.

It was an okay movie. A bit predictable and not as thrilling as its predecessor. Everyone looked hot and the glitz and glam quotient was high, but the story wasn't all that intriguing.
