The death of the Delhi gang-rape victim in Singapore shocked Bollywood, with Shabana Azmi urging the country to "wake up" and combat violence against women.
The film fraternity took to Twitter to express its indignation over the gang-rape and her death after 13 days of struggle.
Amitabh Bachchan: 'Amanat', 'Damini' just a name now... her body has passed away, but her soul shall shall forever stir our hearts.
Shabana Azmi: And SHE PASSES AWAY in Singapore. RIP. Our impotence stares us in the face. May SHE become the wake-up call our country needs. We must soul search. Female foeticide; inequal access to nutrition, education, health; no decision making powers; dowry demands; rapes rampant. INDIA WAKE UP.

u were like a symbol of courage, brave girl...u were of the same age as i am. And today through the unbelievable courage u displayed u have become an inspiration for me..
Let her death not be just another testimony to the injustice in life, but act as a positive turning point where the process of change starts off...
Dear sister, I wish u won the battle u so bravely fought. But now I pray that the rest of us will be able to continue it on for u, in what little ways we can...

Politicians and Police commissioners are not concerned because they know that 'YE EK DO DIN KA TAMASHA HAI' and that it will soon be forgotten and status quo will be established!
Has anybody heard of a politicians wife or daughter got raped?...So why should politicians bother to create extra work for themselves when they can utilize their time meeting and helping businessmen who would make a hefty donation to them!
COME BACK NEXT YEAR AND THE YEAR AFTER AND YOU WILL FIND THAT THINGS WILL STILL BE SAME...WOMEN GETTING RAPED, KILLED,TOUCHED, GROPED AND EVE TEASED!
