Sonakshi Sinha has confirmed that she is playing female lead in the Hindi remake of Tamil hit "Thuppakki". She started shooting for the project Thursday.

"Because I only talk about a film AFTER I've signed it, it's my pleasure to share with you all that we started shooting the 'Thuppakki' remake today. Looking forward to working with this team," Sonakshi tweeted Thursday.

In "Thuppakki", Sonakshi will once again feature with Akshay Kumar, with whom she has done films like "Rowdy Rathore" and "Joker".

why didn't they just put kajal for the remake!!! i don't think the role will suit sonakshi!! she is better in certain roles. kajal is a sporty person in the role and i am sorry sonaksh but this role doesn't suit you. but amazing acting in dabang. waiting for dabang 2!!!

Remake movie in hindi wil not stand upto d original.. Take for example gajini, pokiri, vikramarkudu an so on.. May be al did well at box offic but if u compare, hindi one stands nowher.. So jus stop copyin an make original ones.. An fed up of akshay's lucky charm..1st was kat an now sonakshi.. Another trend is remake.. Grow up my boy!! Movie works based on good storyline an actin..
