Ace designer Rohit Bal, who attended the first edition of the Shillong Fashion Week (SFW) as a guest, is so impressed with the show that he has decided to participate in its next edition.
"It's wonderful to see huge potential in northeast and with SFW they have got a platform, which is amazing. Everybody is just so wonderful. From people to streets, everyone is beautiful," Bal said on the sidelines of the ongoing SFW.
"The best thing to appreciate about SFW is that they are giving local weavers of Meghalaya an opportunity to explore their skills and I think this is really going to do wonders for them. It is an incredible platform and I am very proud to say that that I will be the part of next season," he added.
The two-day extravaganza, to promote northeast designs and fabrics, started here Saturday.
Initiated under the leadership of the state Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, SFW was held at the North Eastern Hills University (NEHU) convention centre.
