The premiere of Anurag Kashyap's "Chittagong" turned out to be star-studded with the presence of megastar Amitabh Bachchan and superstar Shah Rukh Khan. Both the actors feel the film falls in the league of 'new cinema'.
"Anurag has been a great revolution in Indian cinema and the kind of films that he has been making and has been promoting, are creating a new audience and that is very exceptional and much appreciated," Amitabh told reporters here.
Shah Rukh said he "wanted to be part of the film, but unfortunately it didn't happen".
"I am so happy that this film is releasing now. It's a very important film and I have heard a lot about it. It's an interesting piece of cinema and I wish all the best to it," he added.
The film, set against the backdrop of the Chittagong uprising of the 1930s British-occupied India, will release Oct 12.
