With a major emphasis on brand endorsement, Kolkata-based Berger Paints will rope in a top Bollywood actress as brand ambassador for its Silk range of emulsions and have a budget of Rs.35 crore for TV commericals, a top company official said Thursday.
"We have planned to spend a big amount on advertisements. We are bringing on board a top Bollywood actress as our brand ambassador for the Silk range of emulsions. We will also arrange for endorsement of our other brands," managing director and chief executive officer Abhijit Roy told mediapersons here.
"We are in talks and it can be either of the two," said Roy, adding that the company will spend Rs.35 crore alone on the TV advertisement apart from the endorsement on other media.
Speaking on the occasion of 88th annual general meeting, Roy said the company was looking for acquisitions both within and outside the country.
"In the overseas market, we are looking for acquisition of technology. However, in the domestic market any acquisition move should be driven by the possibility of increasing market share," he said.
The Indian paint company has entered Poland through an acquisition, which boasts of energy efficient and protective external insulation finishing system. It is also present in Russia and Nepal through subsidiaries.
