Filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar, whose production "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" bagged nine awards at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, says the movie's success doesn't make it necessary for him to make its sequel.
"It's not like it's necessary to make a sequel, we'll see later," the 38-year-old said here Sunday after returning from the IIFA weekend and awards held in Singapore.
"Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara" swept the technical awards category with five trophies before bagging four main awards - best film, best story, best actor in supporting role for Farhan and best director for his sister, Zoya Akhtar.
Farhan, who hosted the IIFA awards ceremony with Shahid Kapoor this year, is happy with the accolades.
"We got quite a few awards, a lot of technical awards, Zoya won best director, we got best film, best story, best screenplay. So it feels great and it was a lot of fun hosting the awards. So all in all a good fun trip," said Farhan.
Of his next production, Farhan said: "Our next film is 'Talaash'. It will release in November, and is directed by Reema (Kagti). It stars Aamir (Khan), Kareena (Kapoor) and Rani (Mukerji)."

a sequel will definitely destroy the beauty of this original movie! ZMND is one of the best movies bollywood has seen! shoot!!! 7 awards!!!!! very very well deserved! :-) zoya and farhan are indeed rockstars! :-)
The main beauty of ZNMD was in finding love & friendship on a spectacular journey...I don't think that can be recreated or need to be.I agree with Farhan-sequel not necessary even Rock On 2 which will come after Taalash is also not needed that too ended on a beautiful note I don't think a sequel is really needed!!!
I would welcome a sequel to ZNMD with open arms! But, I think part of the beauty of that film lies in the way it ends...and I think having a sequel would ruin that, and make ZNMD lose its credibility. And for that reason, I agree with Farhan that it doesn't need a sequel.
The year enjoyed its big-ticket movies like "Chennai Express" and ...
