Rani Mukherjee, who has made her comeback with Yash Raj's, "Dil Bole Hadippa", will be seen playing the role of a Punjabi girl who transforms her look into a Sikh man. This is done because she wishes to make her way into the men's cricket team.
This transformation has provoked some agitation in Punjab, especially among the Sikhs, since they believe that the turban Rani is sporting in the latest Yash Raj movie does not give the correct perspective of a Sikh Man. According to a few members of the Sikh community, Mukherjee is playing the role of a grown male adult who is wearing a turban that a young Sikh boy wears, technically termed the 'patka'.
Sources also reveal that the Sikh Community is considerably upset, because producer Yash Raj, being a Sikh himself has not managed to give due respect and importance to the portrayal of a Sikh in his movie.
Further more, the community members have said to be demanding a special screening of "Dil Bole Hadippa", to scan for other delicate susceptibilities similar to this situation. Coincidently, recent release staring Saif Ali Khan & Deepika Padukone, "Love Aaj Kal" also faced a few talks amongst the Sikh Community, for showing Saif Ali Khan wooing his love in a Gurudwara

    Propaganda Nonsense...

That's ridiculous! What loads of propaganda NONESENSE! When playing cricket, Harbhajan "pajee" Mann wears a patka, so why would the Sikh community get upset?!???!!!! It is hard to support a turban while playing cricket, thats why most to all sardars wear a patka ANYWAYS!!! HELLO!!!!!

In order to get publicity, please don't involve the SIKH community. Sikhs are proud of the fact that they are being represented so well in Bollywood. It was long over due, and they would never get upset over such a measley issue. SO PLEASE STOP involving the Sikhi community!

are you really serious, I mean, These so called hardcore sikhs, who raises their voice for this little stuff need to come to USA and UK, and see what their Sikh Community is going through, especially with youth, Patka the symbol of Sikh Youth doesn't exist, and on top of that, If new young sikh guy comes to USA, within one year, he takes off his patka to look cool and blend in american community, that is the reality and i have seen it in New York, alot. i mean they are just after actors and actresses, come on already... give them a break and look amongst yourselves.

This movie will rock it all.

Really people more important issues out there as hunger; war; etc etc than this. Why always issues on this. Really crazy. It's just a movie it's not promoting that all women dress up as a man and so forth. gosh!!!!!!! They should be proud more movies are coming out surrounding sikhism. Granted not all are correct but it's a movie not a documentary

I have many Sikh friends, and they are not offended by it...and infact they take pride in an actor portraying a sikh person..I don't understand some people, they stretch their own mentality upon others..I don't think any sikh has problems, this people seem to be just looking for some cheap publicity
