Baseline of the story: A struggle and fight against all odds of a National level wrestling champion to make his daughters World Champions and also to make them win a gold for the country is what 'Dangal' is all about!
Mahavir Phogat (Aamir Khan) a national level wrestling (Kushti) champion leaves the sport to support his family as he wasn't able to make enough money with it. After that, his only wish was to make his son a world champion. However, his dream to have a son remains unfulfilled as his wife (Saakshi Tanwar) delivers four girls. Though he loves all his daughters unconditionally, he is somewhere disappointed because he feels his dream would now never come true.
One fine day, the eldest of them Geeta (Young Geeta - Played by Zaira Wasim) and Babita (Young Babita played by Suhani Bhatnagar) beats two guys just for a small reason. This makes Mahavir realize that anyone can bring gold for the country, be it a girl or a boy!
And from the very next day, he starts training both his daughters rigorously.
Back in those times, girls entering the ring was a taboo and hence it become the topic of discussion for all the people in the village. Mahavir even chopped the hair of his daughters so that they don't complain about long hair. The story goes on and Geeta starts playing 'Dangals' (wresting tournaments) and tossing guys upside down is what makes her famous all over Haryana!
The story gradually takes twists and turns which will excite you, make you cry but there are scenes that will give you a good laugh too!
The actor never disappoints you when it comes to his films. This time again, he has got into the skin of his character and delivered a fantastic performance. Now we know why he makes only one film in the span of a year or two!
Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra as Geeta and Babita:
Debutantes? Really? They did so well that after watching them on screen no one would say they are newbies. The wrestling sequences performed by them are truly commendable!
Best choices! The dialogue delivery by both of them, the expressions and the innocence are worth mentioning. They will surely keep you entertained throughout the first half of the film and leave their mark on your hearts.
She has done an applaudable job with the Haryanvi accent. Though she has less screen time, she has managed to execute emotions brilliantly. Very flawlessly she has portrayed the pain of a wife, who is not able to bear a Son and fulfill her husband's wish.
The background score and the music adds life to the film and to experience it to the fullest, it is a must to watch it in theaters!
The most important contributors of the film, the writers Nitesh Tiwari ,Piyush Gupta, Shreyas Jain, Nikhil Meharotra and director Nitesh Tiwari, just did an awesome job and have made 'Dangal' the movie of the year!
