Desh (Ruslaan Mumtaz) is a supers
tar. Every girl's dream guy. People can't wait to sign him for their films. He is currently working in a film directed by Farah Khan who is assisted by Rajesh Parekh (Ritesh Deshmukh). The only son of Mr and Mrs. Parekh played by Satish Shah and Supriya Pilgaonkar. Rajesh's best buddy is Kaushal Milan Tiwari (Vishal Malhotra
) who is hopelessly addicted to porn.
In comes Natasha (Sonal Sehgal) who blows away Rajesh's mind. Conveniently she is out to try her hands at direction in the film Rajesh is working for. It's no inconvenience that Natasha is Desh's sister. But Rajesh, who has always been unlucky in love, doesn't find a better fate here too and Natasha responds to his feelings with- Par maine toh tumhe sirf ek dost maana tha (But I only thought of you as a friend). Oops!
So poor Rajesh goes to an isolated driveway and yells his heart out to the ooparwalah (God) and questions angrily if anyone, anyone at all is planned to be his soul-mate. And guess what? Plop falls an unknown and adorable beauty right onto Rajesh's arms. Wow! Instant reply from God! Yay! But that's not how our honest and innocent Rajesh responds.
What Rajesh does is to carry her home and leave her there to think aloud the situation with Kaushal. They return to find this mysterious girl aping everything she saw on television. After making sure she is not fatal and that she has nothing to say of herself, they christen her as Tara.
Tara is smart. She is from Venus, you see and she can know everything that's in Ritesh's mind just by touching his head. So then after learning Hindi she tells Ritesh that she is on earth to search love, something that the people or aliens whatever you may wish to call them, on planet venus have forgotten. Tara asks her search device to search the most loved man in India and the result is- Mr. Desh.
And so, the task is set. Mr. Perfect, Desh will show Tara what true love is. That's the agenda on papers atleast. However, things that happen later, are totally different from what's planned and the liking turns to pain and confusion. Who said love would be bereft of all that? But in the end the soul-mates find each other and we have a sweet candy floss ending.
Jacqueline Fernandez is sweet in every frame. She can soften any guys knees with that 1000-watt smile and silly pout. Ritesh is cute but is trying too hard. Vishal is naughty and so is Satish Shah. Supriya doesn't make an effect. Sonal is charming and has a soft appeal. Farah Khan looks motherly. Out of all the guest appearances, that of Akshay Kumar stands out!Yay!
The film is essentially fun. Everything about it spells pink hearts and cuddly toys.
The theme is well put out with bright colors all over the screen.
The chemistry between Ritesh and Jacqueline is sweet. The one between Ritesh and Vishal is cool.Yawn…
The dialogues are mediocre and the costumes, especially the ones for Jacqueline, are drab.
A lot of stuff is re-cycled. Most things are predictable.
The second half especially the climax where the realization of –Oh, I actually love this person- happens has been stretched a lot. And I mean it, a lot!Yes or No?
The film is quite entertaining for most of the part except the climax. Lots of sexual connotations when it comes to humor, deprive it from being a family watch.
It's not entirely a waste and bereft of entertainment factors. An 'okay' watch.Rating:
