As has become typical of the Aamir Khan Production House, Dhobi Ghat strives to portray a documentary drama with some social message wrapped up in a commercial cover. Prateik Babbar (son of Mr. Raj Babbar who enacted Genelia's brother in the 2008 blockbuster Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na) plays the male lead, while Aamir's own role of a painter which was at one point alluded to be a guest appearance continues to remain a mystery. In 2008 the infamus Mumbai attacks had stalled the shooting for the movie. Sequences which had to be shot in and around railway stations of Mumbai did not get due permission owing safety concerns at that point. Now however, all is done, the movie has been showcased at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and is all set to release on 21st January 2011.
Here's a glimpse of what to expect!
