"Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka" from the movie Hare Rama Hare Krishna was a super hit in 1971. Lyricist Anand Bakshi had chosen the beautiful voice of Lata Mageshkar to sing the female version while the male version of the same was sung by Kishore Kumar. The song had a magical touch, not just because of whom it was sung by, but because it essayed a relationship of two siblings who were separated due to their parents' divorce, leading to a sweet reunion later. This is one unforgettable song that was recently also used by a Star Plus TV show - Ek Hazaaron Main Meri Behna Hai. 

Laga Chunari Main Daag was an exceptional movie where Rani Mukherjee's portrayal of being the eldest daughter and a loving sister was strong and pivotal. The songs, helmed by Shantanu Moitra and the lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire, shook the audience and left them joyfully excited. "Hum Toh Aise Hain Bhayyia" is the song that belongs to the sisters, showing how different two sisters can be but once it comes to family matters, all sisters stand as one. The enchanting voice of Shreya Ghoshal along with the powerful voice belonging to Sunidhi Chauhan definitely does a number on the audience.Once again, Kishore Kumar's "Meri Pyari Behaniya Banegi Dulhaniya" from the movie Sachha Jhutha (1970), was an startlingly impressive song where the lyrics leave the brother crying at the farewell of his sister whilst the sister is left feeling empty and hollow from losing the love of her sibling. So popular is the song that Indeevar's lyrics and Kalyanji Anandji's music direction still has the song being played at current desi weddings.

The Rekha starrer movie Khubsoorat was released in 1980. While the movie did not go well with the audience, the song "Sun Sun Sun Didi Tere Liye Ek Rishta Aaya Hai" left them lingering with laughter. Sang by the melodious Asha Bhosle while the lyrics were lent by Gulzar, the music direction belongs to the evergreen R. D. Burman. The song can be found categorized under the marriage songs section, but should it exist, it can be also found under the ched chad category where the younger sister teases the older sister and leaves her in want of answers after announcing that a potential suitor has been found for her. Released in 1994 starring Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! showcased the love of two sisters to such an extent that at the death of the elder sister (Pooja), the younger one (Nisha) decides to sacrifice her love to give proper care and attention to her demised sisters orphan child. However, before the emotional drama, we have the godh bharai of Pooja where her devar (Prem) and Nisha get in a odd situation of sorts. With the song "Didi Tera Devar Deewana" playing in the background, Nisha imitates the childish acts of Prem. The words penned perfectly by Dev Kohli and sung by Lata Mageshkar and S. P. Balasubrahmanyam give the song it's final touch that still makes it to the list of wedding songs played today.

Vivah is a movie that focuses on the love story and the change of relationships for both intended parties of a marriage, with the climax consisting of Poonam being stuck inside a house on fire trying to save her younger cousin sister, Chotti. The song "O Jiji" exhibits the moment of teasing that the younger siblings usually get the opportunity of achieving. Poonam, played by Amrita Rao, is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Prem, played by Shahid Kapoor, but is eventually caught by Chotti trying to spy his arrival from the rooftop. The song is an accomplished piece of work by music director Ravindra Jain, with the playback completed by Shreya Ghoshal and Pamela Jain.
