John Abraham invited as chief guest for inaugural I League

New Delhi, Nov 21 (IANS) Bollywood actor John Abraham's latest flicks in the movie 'Goal' had made him a perfect role model for soccer.

The actor has been invited by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) as the chief guest for the inaugural I League, which starts in Goa Saturday. The tournament will kick-off with the Goan derby, Dempo playing Salgaocar at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Margao.

An avid soccer fan himself, John plays the role of an aspiring football player in the film, which is a contemporary story of the hurdles faced by the Asian community in Britain told through the dynamic prism of professional football. The film will be release Friday.

The film will also be showcased at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which also starts Friday in Goa.
